Absolutely — lefties wrote with dip pens for centuries before ballpoints existed. The real issue is smearing for "overwriters" whose hand trails through fresh ink.
The winning setup is fast-drying ink, a finer nib (less ink down = faster dry), and paper that absorbs rather than lets ink sit. Underwriters and side-writers usually need no accommodation at all.
