What we collect, why, and what we don’t. In plain ink.
The short version
We collect the minimum needed to run an independent review site and a small made-to-order shop. We don’t sell your data, and we don’t run creepy cross-site ad tracking.
Analytics
We use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics to understand which guides help readers — page views, rough geography, referrers. It isn’t used to build an advertising profile of you.
Newsletter
If you join the desk letter, we store your email address to send it — nothing more. Every issue has a one-click unsubscribe, and leaving deletes you from the list.
Affiliate links
Some outbound links to retailers (chiefly Amazon) are affiliate links. When you click one, the retailer may set its own cookies to attribute a purchase; that transaction happens on their site under their privacy policy, not ours. See our editorial standards for how this works.
Shop orders
Checkout is handled by Stripe, and fulfillment needs a shipping address. We use that information only to process and deliver your order and to email you about it. Payment card details are handled by Stripe and never touch our servers.
