When your letters are 2 mm tall, nib size stops being a preference.

Small writers need lines that stay crisp at tiny x-heights: Japanese EF and F nibs, drier ink, and paper with minimal spread. A wet Western medium turns 2 mm letters into blots; the same words under a Pilot EF stay legible in a planner’s day-box.

The trade to accept: finer nibs carry more feedback. On smooth coated paper it reads as precision, not scratch.
