Fountain pens for artists & sketching
Waterproof lines under washes, and a nib that hatches for hours.
Sketch pens split from writing pens on one spec: ink permanence. If watercolor or wash ever touches the page, you want pigment ink (Platinum Carbon is the standard) in a pen you clean respectfully. Line-width flexibility — a fude or stub nib — replaces a pocket of fineliners.
Eyedropper-friendly pens carry enough ink for a full sketchbook day; a dry pen at golden hour is the artist’s version of a dead camera battery.
